Congratulations to SKYBAND for attaining a SILVER award this SYF2011 i am veryvery proud to be in the band :DDDDDDD

After going through SKYBAND's 5th SYF, every year I have seen improvements in the band... although we maintain a SILVER but so wad all that matters to me is the improvements and the nvr say die attitude...Ok maintain a silver with a harder song like persis isnt a really easy job.. this shows that the silver we get in SYF2011 is a higher standard silver technically :DD

Now that SYF2011 is over, it doesnt mean that we the alumnis or the current members are going to stop pursueing our goal for SKYBAND... We will always stay strong and bring every obstacle in our way :)

For the sec 4s and 5s, I am very grateful to ur participation and hardwork u put in SKYBAND for this SYF2011 and its time to focus on ur academic work which is important for ur next level of education :D but hey think abt the bright side u will still be a SKYBAND member once a member, u will always stay tgt with SKYBAND as an alumni :D I really wish u guys all the best in ur exams and do well then in future come back often and help the band :DD

For the sec 1s, 2s and 3s the next official practice marks the journey to the next syf 2013!! U may think that I am exagerrating but its true!!

To breakthrough, its very possible every band starts from square one to achieve a good award doesnt take just few mths to get it!
The current problem that I found out is that we only tends to push and work hard only when SYF is nearing or just a few mths away...to get a good award a few mths is nvr good enough!!
Like studies, if there are ppl that know their work, they will get an A, and for those that nvr study or do not understand they got for instance a C. And the average will always be lower than expected.. although trying very hard to get every single one to know their parts and play together as one is easily said than done, there will always be a few black sheeps around..if only all can play the piece 100% then our goal can be achieve :DD
Ya, its true that we forever have the chance to make the sch proud but who wans to make the first move??

Me and the rest of the alumnis had always wanted to bring the band up to greater heights. After helping out for a few SYFs, I can still get replies like nvm we can try again the next SYF ?? Even though their not the one perform but always be there to help :D U all should be grateful to them for their undying support for SKYBAND! I dunno what SKYBAND mean to U guys but to me I treat every single one as a family and music has always been my passion :D

As for Mr Kenneth Lun, he will always be there for U every practice and U nvr know how much he loves the band.. No matter what he will keep calm to teach and hardly scoldsor breaks any one of our hearts..Even though I have already be an alumni, he will always be my mentor.. U guys will nvr know how other high standard band instructor teachs their students... like i experienced it after many sch exchanges i went in my yrs...when there is a slight mispitch or wrong rhythm, the instructor/ cnductor just scream at the top of the voice and ask them to get out.. if still cant play in tune or correctly, cannot go for SYF or any competitions..
To me i dun think thats the right way to teach, everyone new is bound to make mistakes but is just how one overcomes and practice and make it into their strength!

Put all that aside, the question is how is SKYBAND going to move towards the next SYF is not up to me or any teacher in charge to choose.. as an alumni I can just come back give advice, help and teach the way of playing but I doubt that everyone will listen perhaps those who really loves music and wan/ enjoy doing well in it..
I hope the band will treasure any alumnis coming back to help...To succeed, the current band members must know how to play their instruments well... To do so, i hope that the section leader can be the one to guide the sections along every single practice :) No matter what teach until can play diedie must play hahas! first of all start from every scales for the instrument.. maybe it could be found in the standard of excellence we have ?? As long we noe how to play scales and train on the air support of holding each note minimum of 12 counts..After getting this, every single song is very easy as we can get almost literally all notes right and attainable.

I guess that all I wan to say to the band as I care alot for SKYBAND and it meant alot to me...The times I spent in the band will remain in my memory forever :D
So promise not to let anyone down and most importantly urself :) I can only advice advice and advice :PPP cheer up heys its a SILVER!!

To end off, I will still be very happy to help out SKYBAND so will the rest of the alumnis if we can :D I wish the new committee can anchor the band well and set a good example in the band!!! All the best :D

Dear Bandits,

Good job for maintaining a Silver. Pls do not be upset tt we did not achieve a Gold. What matters is we had put in our best. The friendship and memories that we created tgt is wad we should treasure. Even after the seniors have step down, we will still be there for u all. Once a skyband member, always a skyband member. Strive on and do ur best, i have faith in u all. :)
